Alocasia macrorrhiza ‘Stingray’ is a very unique and distinctive houseplant with the leaves pointing upward and outward, which shows off its ribbed, leathery, emerald green surface. The leaf of this Alocasia resembles the marine animal Stringray, thus the name.
Pot size: 11 cm (diameter)
Plant size: 30-35 cm (without the pot)
Alocasia macrorrhiza ‘Stingray’ originates from the tropics of South East Asia and loves humidity. If you won’t provide her enough humidity, she might have problems unfurling her leaves. The easiest way to do it is by placing your Alocasia on a tray with pebbles and water. Make sure that no roots touch the water.
Bright, indirect sunlight
Let the plant dry out between waterings
Misting your plant is not a sustainable way of raising humidity around it, plus it might cause damage on foliage if the room isn’t well ventilated!
