This houseplant comes from the rainforests of Brazil and Southern Venezuela. In nature, it grows up trees. It is one of the best climbing Aroids, so it will benefit greatly from a support pole! Only then this houseplant will start developing bigger leaves.
Philodendron Atabapoense is often confused with its close relative Philodendron Billietiae. However, the latter has brighter, more medium green leaves, prominent orange petioles and no red leaf underside.
Bright, indirect light
Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Philodendrons prefer well-draining soil, and it’s essential to allow the top inch of the soil to dry slightly between waterings. Adjust the frequency based on environmental conditions and the plant’s specific needs.
