These Tillandsia plants are actually air plants so they thrive best on very limited watering. In fact, the less water they receive the curlier their funky tendrils become, making them great gifts for the less than green-fingered!
Pot size: 12 cm (diameter)
Plant size: around 15 cm (without the pot)
Tillandsia is part of the bromeliad family and comes from South America. They make great houseplants loving warm temperatures up to 30ºC and are very easy to look after. Tillandsia thrives in sites that have superior airflow, and so it is important to provide a well-ventilated position for your plant to remain healthy. They also enjoy bright but diffused light, so a bright room with lots of skylights would be ideal.
Bright, indirect light. Keep this plant away from direct sunlight as this will cause the plant to develop burn marks
Soak your Tillandsia Curly Slim once or twice a week in a bowl of water for 3 minutes each time. You can also mist your plant with a spray bottle 3-4 times a week if it needs more water between the soakings. Tillandsias absorb water through leaves instead of roots. Gently shake off any excess water from the leaves of the air plant after each watering. Place your air plant somewhere with good air circulation to dry them completely within 4 hours of watering. Do not put it under the sun or near heaters/AC units as intense heat and cold temperatures can damage the plants
